Chemalya is a Pentadrian Servant of the Gods, who sells a pre-spiced version of the Dunwayan drink, fwa in Chon. He was trained by the Dedicated Servant Deekan. Chemalya's mother had been a Dunwayan servant woman who had run away to Sennon, where she became a whore. Chemalya's father was one of his mother's clients, who had decided to stay with her, after they had a son. Chemalya took over his father's business after he died, because the pentadrians urged him to do so.

Deekan sent Chemalya to a village in Dunway to try to convert some Circlians into the Pentadrian cult. There, he had to pretend he was a trader, so he could gain other people's trust. Then he would send them to a safe spot, Dram, where Warwel would receive, and if possible, convert them. One of the future converts he sent to Dram, is Ton, a servant of a wealthy Dunwayan warrior.
