Roet

Roet, also known as rot, is a drug which is first introduced in The Ambassador's Mission.

It is not specifically known how it is taken, however we know a brazier is involved. The effects of Roet are not particularly well known either, however from description of the addicts behaviour we can speculate that the drug offers: Analgesia (reduced pain) Euphoria (the "rush" or feeling of well-being), as one of Lord Lorkin's friends wanted to use it to start a party Nausea Sedation, drowsiness, the numbing of emotion Reduced anxiety Reduced emotion, as the addict builder used it to numb his feels of grief The Thieves have taken advantage of the availability of the drug, however Cery is against the drug. We find out later in the book that Skellin must have brought it with him to Kyralia from Igra.

Cery, Anyi and Gol manage to find a small room in the Guild where Roet plants were being grown. This was because if the Guild captured or killed Skellin, the roet would stop coming into Kyralia and most addicts wouldn't be able to cope. The two people involved in the growing of this plants are Vinara and Kallen. The roet plant can also be made into perfume, as Sonea has some without realising, until Dorrien pointed it out.
