Tribes are groups of Siyee. Usually they are all distant relatives, and most marriages usually are between two siyee from the same tribe. Each tribe has a representative, known as a speaker. The head speaker for all Siyee is Sirri. At the beginning of Priestess of the White there were 16 tribes of Siyee living in Si.
